引导时间状语从句的从属连词主要有when，while，as，before，after，until，till，since，as soon as;其中，before的用法主要有以下几种：
(1)It was +一段时间 +before +从句(一般过去时);表示“过了多长时间才……，事情已发生”;例如：
It was two years before we met again. 又过了两年我们才再次相见。
(2)It will be +一段时间+before +从句(一般现在时);表示“要过多久才会……”;例如：
It will be two years before he leaves the country. 两年后他才离国。
(3)It wasn’t + 一段时间 +before +从句(一般过去时);表示“没多久……就…… ，事情已发生”
如：It wasn’t long before he told me about this affair.没过多久他就告诉了我这件事。
(4)It won’t be +一段时间+before +从句(一般现在时);表示“不用多久就会……”，例如：
It won’t be two years before he leaves the country. 不用两年，他就将离国。
