ascribe, attribute, contribute, owe都含有“归因于……”之意

1. One should not ascribe/ attribute one’s error to objective conditions.
一个人不应把自己的错误归咎于客观条件。
2. It is preposterous to attribute to mere external conditions.
仅仅以外部环境来解释一切是不合理的。
3. I attribute his success to his hard work. 我把他的成功归因于勤奋工作。
4. We attribute/ ascribe Edison’s success to his intelligence and hard work.
我们把爱迪生的成就归因于他的聪明才智和辛勤工作。
