At the beginning of the class,I will invite students to sing a song together.Then I will do a revision of what they have learned before with students.I will divide them into two groups and do a speed quiz.I flash some pictures about food on the PPT and ask students to speak them out quickly.The group can be rewarded if they can get more answers.
By doing this,I can create a better English learning atmosphere and activate students'interests to take part in the class activities.Besides,revision of words about food can pave the way for the next reading.
Step2 Presentation
I will tell students Robin will cook for us,someone has told Robin what he likes and guide them to have a look.Then students are required to read the text for the first time and to circle the food they can find in the text.
After the first reading,students are required to read the text again to answer the questions:
①What's Yifan's favorite food?
②What's Grandpa's favorite food?
③What can they both eat?
They can tick the answers on the text.
Reading tasks of different levels can not only enable students to master knowledge about food better while doing tasks but to learn how to get information from the passage correctly.
Step3 Practice
I will invite students to read after the tape and then make a conversation according to the text and do the role-play.One student acts as Yifan,the other one acts as robot Robin.Then I will invite students to fill in the blanks of a letter to Robin to tell what they would like to eat and ask Robin to cook for them.
This step can give the students a chance to better apply what they have learned in a real situation.What's more,writing activities can also develop their basic writing abilities.
Step4 Summary and Homework
In this step,I will invite one student to be a little teacher and conclude the key words and the target language,and then I will draw a conclusion that they should love different food and have a healthy eating habit.
As we know,students are the center in our lesson.I will try to provide more chances for students to take part in our lesson.At the end of the class,I also make a summary to arouse the resonance of students'emotion.
At the end of the class,I'd like to present my homework to consolidate what the students have learned in this period.Ask students to write down their parents' favorite food and invite Robin to cook for them.
